Police have arrested a 22-year-old female in relation to a glassing assault that occurred in Darwin City early this morning.

Patrolling members located a disturbance out the front of the Value Inn on Mitchell Street at approximately 2:00 am.

It was soon established that a 21-year-old female had received lacerations to the back of her head, believed to have been caused by a glass bottle.

She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital however has since been discharged.

The 22-year-old offender has been charged with aggravated assault and is to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 29 April.
