Mataranka, Minyerri and Katherine Police are currently in attendance at the scene of a fatal vehicle roll over on the Roper Highway

Police were alerted to the crash at about 2:30 today after it is believed the driver of a Ford Falcon sedan lost control of the car causing it to roll about 1km from the Hodgson Downs Station turn off.

A 15-year-old female passenger was located deceased at the scene and a 2-year-old boy has been conveyed to Katherine Hospital.

Crash Investigators from Katherine are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police do not expect to have any further details until tomorrow.

This now takes the NT road toll to 15.
