NT Police will summons a 25-year-old man in relation to a fatal vehicle crash in Coolalinga late last month.

It is alleged the man was driving a road train travelling inbound on the Stuart Highway on 28 July when he failed to stop at a red light, causing his truck to collide with a Toyota Hilux.

The crash claimed the life of a 50-year-old Darwin man.

Major Crash Investigators interviewed the man on Friday.

He will be summonsed in relation to the following offences:

Drive a motor vehicle causing death
Disobey a red light
