It is believed the victim, the sole occupant of the car, was travelling on the Arnhem Highway at approximately 5:00 pm and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll.

Jabiru Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance members attended, locating the woman trapped in the vehicle, however she died a short time later at the scene.

Police are now investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

This brings the NT road toll to seven compared to four for the same period last year.
