Members from the Darwin Major Crash Investigation Section are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Farrar this afternoon.

Police received a report of a crash involving a motorbike and a bus at approximately 4:30 pm on the intersection of Roystonea Avenue and Gurd Street.

Initial investigations indicate that the motorbike was travelling outbound on Roystonea Avenue when he crashed into a bus turning out of Gurd Street.

St John Ambulance attended but the 26-year-old male motorbike rider died a short time after at the scene.

Roystonea Avenue will remain closed until approximately 10:30 pm while investigations are continuing.

There is no further information at this stage

This now brings the Northern Territory road toll to 34, compared to 18 for the same period last year.
