A man has died following a single vehicle crash on the Lasseter Highway south of Alice Springs this afternoon.

Police received a report around 1pm that a Range Rover towing a caravan had crashed approximately 30 kilometres west of Erldunda. A female passenger has been transported to Imanpa clinic.

Members of the Major Crash Unit from Alice Springs are travelling to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details are available at this time.

The death brings the Territory road toll to 33 compared to 17 for the same period last year.
