The man will face charges of deprivation of liberty , sexual assault and stealing .
Police allege the man was in Tennant Creek on the evening of Friday, January 15 when he approached an 18 year-old-woman in the street, engaged her in conversation and convinced her to get into his car.
He then allegedly drove her to a local lookout where he sexually assaulted her before leaving her there and driving away. Following last Wednesday's successful extradition application, Detectives escorted the man back to Alice Springs where he appeared in custody in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Friday February 5.
He was remanded in custody to appear again on March 18.
