NT Police, Fire and St John Ambulance officers attended the scene.

Police have a person of interest in custody in relation to this offence.

At this stage it is believed that 13 people have been conveyed to the Royal Darwin Hospital, six of those via St John Ambulance and seven more via car, suspected to be suffering minor injuries.

The extent of the injuries are unknown at this stage and subject to assessment at the hospital.

This matter is a Major Crime Investigation and more information will be released as the investigation progresses.

Motorist are advised to avoid Cavanagh Street near the Woolworths shopping complex as well as the bustop.
