Emergency Aircraft Landing - Rapid Creek

NT Police Fire and St John Ambulance are currently at the scene of an emergency aircraft landing at Rapid Creek.

It is believed the pilot of a single engine Cessna was forced to make an emergency landing at a local beach, after experiencing difficulties while conducting a scenic flight of the area.

The pilot successfully landed the plane on sand near the footbridge at Casuarina Beach just before 5:00pm today.

The aircraft remains on the beach due to damage received during the landing.

St John Ambulance assessed the pilot and five passengers at the scene; no one received injuries as a result of the incident.

Authorities remain at the scene and investigations will begin to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the emergency landing.
