A man will face court on drugs charges after he was pulled over for speeding in Tennant Creek at the weekend.

The 25-year-old driver was arrested after he was caught speeding in Paterson Street just after 1pm on Sunday. The police officer became suspicious of the man's nervous behaviour and a search located more than 160grams of cannabis and ten Ecstasy tablets.

Police also found 25 Cannabis seeds, and implements to administer drugs.

The man has been charged with a number of offences including:


Possession of a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine
Possession of a trafficable quantity of Cannabis
Administer a dangerous drug to self
Drive under the influence of drugs
Speeding

He appeared in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody to appear again tomorrow (March 24).
