Drug Seizure - Wulagi

Members from the Command Tactical Team and Youth Crime Unit have arrested a 41-year-old man in relation to drug and firearm offences.

Police conducted a search warrant of the man's Wulagi home just before 3:00pm yesterday and seized a total of 1182 grams of cannabis and a number of firearms.

Ten medium clip seal bags of cannabis were located in a small fridge in the storage shed and another large clip seal bag was located inside the house.

Four unsecured shotguns were also located and seized at the premises.

The man was arrested and conveyed to Darwin Watch House where he has since been bailed to appear at Darwin Magistrates Court on 12 July 2010 in relation to possess cannabis - commercial quantity offences.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims from the Drug Enforcement Section said NT Police will continue to target drug dealers in the Darwin area.

"NT Police are committed to keeping people safe; in this case we have seized a substantial amount of cannabis that could have potentially reached our streets," he said.
