Drug seizure - Livingstone

Police

Members from the Special Operation Section arrested two men in relation to a number of drug and firearm offences.

Police attended a Livingstone residence last Friday to conduct a search warrant at the property when drug detector dog Taipan provided a positive response to a vehicle at the house. A subsequent search of the car revealed the following items:

1968.5 grams of cannabis
A loaded .32 calibre Smith and Wesson semi automatic pistol
A paint ball gun
Ammunition
11 grams of testosterone
$7422 in cash

A 30-year-old South Australian man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Darwin Watch House.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today in relation to the following offences:

Supply and possess a commercial quantity of a schedule 2 substance
Possess a trafficable quantity of a schedule 2 substance
Posses H class firearm
Possess C class firearm
Possess ammunition - unlicensed
Possess tainted property

A 44-year-old man was also arrested at the scene after police located a .22 calibre pen pistol in his vehicle. He has been bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on July 30.
