Police



Police located a package on Monday 15 November, to which Drug Detector Dog Taipan provided a positive response.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Section and Dog Operations Unit executed a search warrant at the woman's residence and located a package that contained 2.3209 kilograms of cannabis and three clip seal bags containing 22.6 grams of cannabis.

The woman will be summonsed for the following offences:
* Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous drug (cannabis) - commercial
* Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous drug (cannabis - personal
* Supply Schedule 2 Dangerous drug (cannabis)

Detective A/Senior Sergeant Joe Carbone estimated the street value of the drugs was around $75,000 if sold in the Darwin Area.

"It is a great outcome for police to know these drugs didn't get the chance to hit our streets.

"NT Police will continue to target the supply of drugs in the Darwin region and anyone with information about drugs is asked to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
