Following further investigations from a previous drug seizure in Mataranka on 20 July, police located four cardboard boxes at Darwin Airport.

The boxes were searched and later seized after they were found to contain 95 kilograms of Kava.

The man was charged with supply Kava - Commercial Quantity.

"These drugs could have reached a value of at least $60,000 if sold in remote communities, which police believe was the destination for this kava," Sergeant Stephen Pfitzner said.
