Drug and firearm charges - Palmerston

Police



Members of the Special Operations Section executed a search warrant at a residence in Bakewell with members locating:

13 grams on methamphetamine
70 millilitres of steroids
1 x .410 shot gun
1 x 12 gauge sawn off shot gun
1 x .30 calibre M1 Carbine
1 x Electronic stun device
1 x Canister of pepper spray
1 x Set of handcuffs
1 x Death Adder (snake)
An amount of cash
1 gram of cannabis

A search of a vehicle at the residence was also conducted with members locating:
17 grams of methamphetamine
1 x ASP baton
1 x Knuckle duster
3 x Baseball bats
3 x Knives

Two men aged 27 and 21 have been charged with:
Supply methamphetamine
Possess methamphetamine trafficable quantity
Possess schedule 2 substance - trafficable quantity (steroids)
Possess prohibited weapon
Possess controlled weapon
Possess prohibited firearm
Possess unregistered firearm
Alter firearm
Fail to meet storage requirements
Possess tainted property

The 27-year-old man received magistrates bail. The 21-year-old man was remanded in custody and will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 19-year-old man will be summonsed in relation to drug offences.

The offences in relation to the Death Adder will be dealt with by Parks and Wildlife.
