Police believe the male was at the recreational swimming dam with his son when he went missing in the water. His son raised the alarm to members of the public in the area and a search of the dam was conducted.

The males body was found fully submerged and dragged to the bank by a member of the public.

Police and St John Ambulance attended and conveyed the male to the Tennant Creek Hospital however he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
