A 33-year-old man will face court after allegedly assaulting his neighbour when he tried to intervene in a domestic dispute.
The 44-year-old victim told police he was at his home in Burke Street around 3.30pm yesterday when he heard a domestic disturbance taking place in a neighbouring unit.. Shortly after, a woman ran to his unit asking him for help. The woman's partner then arrived at the front door of the victim's unit, kicked a glass panel in the door and entered the unit. He then began assaulting the victim who tried to intervene between the couple.
Police arrested the alleged offender a short time later and he has been charged with:
Unlawful entry and damage to a dwelling
Assault
Resist arrest
Disorderly behaviour in a public place
Disorderly behaviour in a police station.
He will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
