Crocodile incident - Palmerston

Police

At about 5:30pm yesterday a 19-year-old male attended Palmerston Police Station and handed over a half a metre crocodile to members.

It is alleged the man found the crocodile at Marlow Lagoon; he stated there were four other crocodiles that escaped when he attempted to catch them.

The crocodile was secured at the Palmerston Police station for a short time before Parks and Wildlife personnel attended to remove the animal.

Parks and Wildlife last night confirmed it was a saltwater crocodile and advised they would be conducting patrols of the area to confirm if there are further crocs residing in the lagoon.
