Crocodile captured in backyard - Maningrida

Police

Members attended the premises and were shocked when they discovered that there was an 90cm crocodile walking around the garden stirring up the dogs.

After a short chase around the yard, the crocodile was apprehended by members. One member held the head down and gained control while the other member secured the jaws and tail.

The crocodile was then placed into the rear of the police vehicle, where he was later released into the wild.

Both of the attending members have only been in the community for about a week.

"We knew we would face some challenges during our time out here but wasn't expecting to catch a crocodile in our fist week" Constable Baker said.
