At 12:05pm police received a report via UHF radio that a man had been attacked by a crocodile off the Cobourg peninsular near Black Point.

It is believed the man was collecting trepang in the water at the time of the attack.

The crocodile is believed to be 2-3 metres in length.

The man is being medivac to Royal Darwin Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctors Service, and Police from Croker Island are currently traveling to the scene via boat.
