Alice Springs police are investigating an allegation that a person has been practising as a doctor at the Alice Springs Hospital without holding the appropriate qualifications.

Police were alerted to the possibility following a report from Alice Springs Hospital management yesterday. Investigations led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man last night.

Detectives from the Regional Investigations Division are investigating. The man is currently in custody and is yet to be interviewed.
