Crash – Stuart Park

Police

Police urge motorcyclists to drive with extra caution following another crash near Darwin City last night.

At approximately 10:30 pm last night is alleged that a 26-year-old male was travelling on a yellow Triumph motorcycle along Duke Street in Stuart Park when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash.

The male suffered head injuries and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Territory Duty Superintendent Craig Ryan said that this again highlights the importance of wearing helmets whilst riding motorbikes or bicycles.

"It is believed that the man wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, resulting in him receiving facial and head injuries.

"It's quite a simple habit to get into and can ultimately, one day, save your life. I urge all of you to take this warning to heart" he said.
