Police attended the scene of a crash on McMillans Road in Malak this morning after a 62-year-old woman was hit by a car.

It is alleged the 20-year-old male driver of the Black Holden utility was travelling outbound when the female stepped onto the road. The driver is believed to have attempted to take evasive action however collided with the woman.

NT Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene.

She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by ambulance where she remains in the Intensive Care Unit in a Critical Condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
