The counterfeit money, in 100 Euro and 50 Euro denominations, was located on Monday 15 February. The offenders obtained AU Dollars in exchange.

Police are seeking two Eastern European males in relation to the offence.

These males are believed to have been in Darwin since mid-January and police are seeking information regarding their activities during this period.

These males are believed to have links to groups involved in Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) skimming.

NT Police have received no information from any financial institutions to indicate that any ATM skimming has occurred in Darwin, however NT residents are reminded to regularly check their bank account details and if they discover any unauthorised withdrawals, they should immediately notify their bank and also the police.
