Police



It is alleged that at about 5.45 a.m. on Sunday 6th June, the 24-year-old male victim was walking south along the Eastern side of the Todd River near Olive Pink Gardens when he was approached by a noisy, older vehicle that was silver / grey in colour.

Police were told the driver got out of the vehicle and chased the victim to the intersection of Tunks Road and Barrett Drive where he was assaulted with a metal object and had his backpack stolen. The offender then returned to his vehicle and drove south down Barrett Drive.

The offender is described as a Caucasian male, possibly in his mid 20's, approximately 185cm tall with a skinny build, short dark brown hair and wearing a dark blue hooded jumper with a zip at the front.

Police are appealing to any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information should phone police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are also appealing to the female member of the public who attended the front counter of the Alice Springs Police station with property she had located belonging to the victim to contact Police as soon as possible.
