Major Crime Detectives have charged two 16-year-old youths in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred in Alawa on Tuesday night.

It is alleged that the two offenders assaulted a 30-year-old male as he returned to his Alawa home at approximately 8:45 pm.

The two youths have been charged with various offences including:

Aggravated robbery
Recklessly endangering life causing serious harm
Aggravated assault
Attempting to commit a crime
Armed with an offensive weapon
Interfere with a motor vehicle.

They have been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court today.

The 30-year-old male remains in a stable condition in the Royal Darwin Hospital.
