Charges - Car fires - Stuart Park

Police

The offenders allegedly attended two apartment car parks in Dinah Court in the early hours of 27 July where they proceeded to damage a number of vehicles and torch a Jeep, causing extensive damage to the vehicle and car park structure.

As a result of investigations by police two of the males were arrested last week and a further two were arrested and charged yesterday.

The first two males will be summonsed to attend court and the other two have been charged and will appear at the Darwin Magistrates Court on 22 September.

All offenders will face charges in relation to the following offences:
arson
recklessly endanger life
4 x criminal damage
2 x stealing

Superintendent Peter Bravos said there was no excuse for the actions of these young males.

"Police will continue to vigorously investigate such matters in order to keep people safe and to prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law," he said.
