NT Police are calling for public assistance in relation to a computer crime incident reported on Wednesday morning.

It is alleged an unknown man was seen downloading child abuse material onto a USB at an internet cafe on Smith Street at about 10:20am on Wednesday. Members of the public noticed the man acting extremely suspicious and sighted inappropriate material on his computer, they reported the male to the businesses manager and then to Police.

The alleged offender is described as an over weight male, in his 60s and at the time was wearing glasses and 3/4 length khaki pants.

Police urge any one who may have witnessed this incident or who may know the location of this male or has further details to contact NT Police of 131 444 or 1800 333 000.
