Break and Enter - Berrimah

Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance following a break and enter at an Aboriginal Hostel office in Berrimah earlier this week.

Police believe the offender/s entered the premises of Yilli Rreung Aboriginal Hostel office on Boulter Road in Berrimah between 3.00 am and 6.40 am on 20 September. It is alleged that cash, power cards and gift cards were stolen.

Police believe that other recent unlawful entries may be related to this incident.

* On the same night there were a number of other unlawful entries in the Berrimah area including one at IGA at 7 Pruen Road. The alarm activation occurred at approximately 1.50 am and cash was stolen from the premises.

* At approximately 11.55pm on 19 September there was an attempted unlawful entry at Fresh Obsessions in Hardy Road in Pinelands. The offender/s cut the padlock on the front door and attempted to jemmy the door which resulted in the alarm being activated and the offender/s leaving the scene.

* A short time later an attempt was made to break into the office at the Car Wash Facility on Toupein Road in Yarrawonga. The offender/s was unable to gain entry due to the door being reinforced since the last unlawful entry.

Police conducted patrols of the area however were unable to locate the offenders.

Superintendent Rob Jordan said that it is vital to locate the offender/s in the near future to prevent further break-ins.

"NT Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed any of the above incidents or may have further information to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
