A man has died after his vehicle was washed from a flooded causeway on the Negri River near the Western Australian border.

Police from Timber Creek mounted a search for the man around 5pm yesterday after reports the vehicle had been washed away at a causeway on the Duncan Highway. A search by helicopter located the vehicle this morning with the 55-year-old man's body still inside.

An operation is currently underway to recover the vehicle and the body.
