Police are investigating the assault of a 20-year-old female that occurred in Marrara last night.

It is believed that at around 7:30 pm the victim stopped her blue Suzuki Swift at the bus stop near Amy Johnson Avenue, opposite Marrara Christian College, to tend to her 2-year-old child in the back seat.

At this time she was approached by an unknown male who asked her for money and upon her declining, she was hit to the face.

The offender then fled the scene, however is described to be of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 16 years of age, medium build, dark medium length hair and at the time of the incident was wearing a red t-shirt and dark shorts.
