Assault - Harriet Place, Darwin City

Northern Territory Police are investigating a possible assault after locating a 32-year-old male with extensive stab wounds at Harriet Place overnight.

Police located the victim at 7.50 pm lying on the footpath outside the 24 Hour Eatery while conducting routine patrols of the area.

St John Ambulance attended the scene and conveyed the man to Royal Darwin Hospital where he is currently in a stable condition and will undergo surgery.

Police believe the attack may have occurred in the park opposite the 24 Hour Eatery before the victim was found on the footpath.

Police are currently viewing CCTV footage of the area and are calling for public assistance.
