Katherine Detectives have charged a 40-year-old male with manslaughter after an assault that occurred in Katherine on 28 January.

A 40-year-old male was arrested by Katherine Detectives after the death of a 63-year-old male on Wednesday (10 February) in Royal Darwin Hospital.

It is alleged that on Thursday evening (28 January) the males were involved in an argument in bushland outside of Binjari Community.

A 63-year-old suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Darwin from Katherine.

The 40-year-old is to appear in Katherine Court on Monday 15 February.
