A 26-year-old man will face court after allegedly kicking his wife in the face up to ten times during an argument.

The man and his 35-year-old partner had been arguing in the driveway of a Griggs Street unit on Friday night around 7pm when the offender pushed the female victim to the ground and proceeded to kick her with his work boots.

Witnesses told police the man then dragged the victim into the house and put her on a bed. In the morning relatives called an ambulance and the victim was taken to Tennant Creek Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested the offender around 5.30pm last night. He has been charged with aggravated assault and remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
