Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in relation to an assault on a shop-keeper in Alice Springs in August this year.

The juvenile was allegedly one of two males who assaulted a man at Tasty Treats in the Coles Complex before stealing cash and fleeing the premises. The 20-year-old co-offender was apprehended a short time later and has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on December 23. Police located the 16-year-old in the Alice Springs CBD on Sunday and he was arrested and charged with robbery in company and being in possession of controlled weapons after police found two knives on him.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on January 10 next year.
