Six youths, aged between 12 and 16, have already been apprehended in relation to the assault of three young girls, as well as a number of other incidents throughout the Darwin and Larrakeyah area on Monday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said the male was a main offender in the assault and needs to be located and dealt with.

"Viewing the CCTV vision, it shows this male cowardly assaulting these girls," he said.

"We believe that this coward is actively avoiding police and somebody in the community knows where he is.

"It is only a matter of time before we catch him. I urge anyone that may recognise him, or knows his whereabouts, to please come forward and either contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Anyone that calls Crime Stoppers offering assistance into the arrest of this man may be eligible for a reward.

"This male is the last outstanding offender and we are doing all we can to locate him" he said.
