Arrest for Stealing -Arlparra

Five teenagers have been arrested in relation to the theft of a large amount of cash from the Arlparra store.

Police from Tennant Creek and Alice Springs are investigating the theft which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Thieves forced their way into the store and made off with clothing, cigarettes and cash. They then allegedly tried to hotwire a Holden sedan which was parked nearby, before stealing a Mitsubishi Canter truck and driving it out of the community. The vehicle has been found abandoned on the Sandover Highway approximately 45 kilometres from the community.

Police in Alice Springs arrested five juvenile males at the Alice Springs Cinema yesterday afternoon. They also recovered some of the property and cash.

One of the boys is 15 years old while the other four are all 14. They have all been released without charge pending further investigation.
