A man has been arrested following a stabbing at Hidden Valley camp overnight.

Police received a report just after 11pm last night that a 16-year-old youth had been stabbed in the chest. Family members took the victim to Alice Springs Hospital where he underwent surgery last night. He remains in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police said it appeared the alleged offender and the victim were involved in an argument which led to the victim being stabbed to the chest with a knife.

Police investigations led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man in relation to the incident at about 11.30pm last night.

He remains in police custody and is expected to be interviewed this morning.
