Arrest - Drug seizure - Darwin City

Police

Members from the Drug Enforcement Section arrested a 26-year-old man in relation to drug offences yesterday.

At about 4.00pm yesterday Police attended the man's Darwin City unit to execute a search warrant at the premises. During the search the following items were located and seized by police:

96 capsules believed to be a methcathinone based drug
13 LSD tabs
5 grams of an unknown white powder believed to be methylamphetamine
2 grams of cannabis
An amount of cash
The offender was arrested a short time later driving into the esplanade apartment complex. He was conveyed to Darwin Watch House where he was later interviewed in relation to the seizures.

He was later charged and is due to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 20 October in relation to the following offences:

Possess dangerous drug - trafficable
Possess methylamphetamine - trafficable
Possess lysergic acid - trafficable
Possess dangerous drug - cannabis
Supply dangerous drug
Possess tainted property
Senior Sergeant James O'Brien said this was a good seizure for NT Police.

"We will continue to target these types of drug dealers in an effort to reduce the availability of illicit drugs in the Darwin area."
