Following on-going investigations, a man has been arrested in Queensland in relation to the murder of a man who went missing in the Territory in 2008.

Northern Territory Major Crime detectives travelled to Brisbane last Friday following information concerning the fate of missing man Peter Murphy. Mr Murphy went missing under suspicious circumstances in Alice Springs in August 2008.

Queensland police arrested 31-year-old Adam Filippone in Bundaberg yesterday. The man made a brief appearance in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today, and the matter has been adjourned until Friday when the extradition application will be decided.

If granted, he is expected to be returned to Alice Springs next week where he will face court for murder.
