NT Police arrested a 28-year-old man after he was found in the possession of child abuse material.

Members initially attended the man's rural property on 20 July in relation to drug offences, at which time a number of items were seized from the house. Further investigation and interrogation by the Computer Crime Unit revealed over 3000 child abuse images located on his personal computer and data storage devices.

Police arrested the offender at his house yesterday. He has since been was charged with three counts of possess child abuse material and remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
