Police charged a 15-year-old male yesterday, in relation to two assaults last week.

The offender was arrested at Casuarina Shopping Centre and later charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of robbery.

It is alleged he assaulted a 24-year-old woman in Daly Street just before 9pm on Thursday night. The woman told police she was walking near the corner of Mitchell and Daly Streets when she was approached by a man who asked her for cigarettes. When she refused he grabbed her by the hair pulling her to the ground before fleeing towards Uncle Sams.

Then in the early hours of Friday morning he is alleged to have assaulted and robbed a 20-year-old woman near the Beachfront Hotel.

The offender is due to appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today.
