A 29-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to a robbery at the McDonald's drive-through in Alice Springs earlier this month.

Police arrested the woman on Friday following investigations into the incident in which three people were attacked while parked in the McDonald's drive-through on August 3. The offender allegedly smashed the windows of the Ford Falcon in which they were seated before threatening them with an iron bar . She also allegedly struck one of the victims, an 18-year-old man - with the bar as he was trying to get out of the car.

The woman then took the car keys and a wallet from the car before leaving the area in another vehicle.

She has been charged with:
Aggravated Robbery
Aggravated assault (3)
Armed with an offensive weapon
Unlawfully damage property.

She has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on September 28.
