Arrest after car crash – Alice Springs - 4528812

A 35-year-old man will face court after he allegedly crashed his car in Alice Springs while driving with a blood alcohol level of .217 per cent.

Police received a report just after 1am last night that a Ford Falcon travelling outbound along Undoolya Road had crashed into a light pole near the Winnecke Avenue intersection. Two female passengers got out of the vehicle, then the driver continued outbound turning into Grevillea Drive, then Sadadeen Road before parking the car at Hidden Valley Camp. Police arrived a short time later and arrested the driver who was found to have a blood alcohol content of .217 per cent.

He has been charged with driving without due car, driving disqualified and drive with a high range blood alcohol content. He was refused bail and will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
