Appeal re suspicious vehicle – Alice Springs - 4593213

Police are appealing to the public for help in locating a suspicious vehicle involved in an incident in Taylor Street, Alice Springs, this morning.

Police received a report from a 24-year-old woman who was approached by three men in a dark green sedan as she was walking near the Taylor Street - Larapinta Drive intersection around 5am. The woman told police that as the vehicle approached her a male in the back seat wound down the window and told her to get into the car. When she refused, he opened the back door and again told her to get in. She then ran to the Mobil Service Station on Larapinta Drive and the vehicle turned right onto Larapinta Drive.

The victim described all three occupants of the car as being in their late 20s.

The male in the rear seat was wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and a white turban.

Police are appealing to anyone who was driving in the area around 5am today and who may have witnessed the incident or seen a car matching the description given to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to the occupants of a four-wheel- drive vehicle with roof lights which turned into Taylor Street at the time of the incident.
