Aircraft Crash - RAAF Base Darwin - update

Police

Members from the Forensic and Disaster Victim Identification Units have completed examining the scene where two men died as a result of an aircraft crash yesterday.

Two bodies have been recovered from the scene and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.

It is alleged that two men, travelling in an Airnorth 30 seat, twin turbo prop Brisillia E120 plane, were conducting a training exercise when the plane left Darwin Airport and veered left before crashing into bushland on the RAAF Base.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is currently examining the aircraft and will continue investigations into the cause of the crash.
