Aggravated assault - Gray

A 38-year-old man remains in Royal Darwin Hospital after receiving stab wounds as a result of an aggravated assault in Gray last night.

Police received the report at about 7:00pm where it was alleged a 52-year-old man has stabbed the victim after being involved in a heated argument at a house in Gray.

The offender is alleged to have stabbed the man once in the chest and once in the abdomen before witnesses called triple zero.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance where he has since received surgery and remains in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police arrested the alleged offender at the scene and conveyed him to Darwin Watch House.

A crime scene has been established and police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
