Police are investigating the alleged assault of two men in Larrakeyah last night.

The men, aged 23 and 27, have told police they were set upon by a group of men outside the Asti Motel around midnight.

The 23-year-old said he had an unknown object thrown at his head and suffered a small laceration while his companion was punched in the cheek. Neither man required medical treatment.

The group of alleged offenders are believed to be of Aboriginal appearance and had fled the scene before police arrived.

Anyone who witnessed the attack, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, is urged to contact police on 131 444.
