Aggravated Assault – Casuarina

Police have arrested three men aged 31, 38 and 39 years-old following an attack on a 39-year old man in Casuarina.

It is alleged that at approximately 10.30pm last night, the three offenders approached the victim and asked for money for alcohol. The victim stated that he did not have any money and was subsequently attacked by the offenders.

The victim has received injuries to his head, face and body and lost consciousness after being punched in the head by one of the offenders

Police were called to the scene by a witness and subsequently arrested the three offenders.

Territory Duty Superintendent Bruce Porter condemned the violent actions of the offenders

"This was an unprovoked, cowardly assault where the offenders have continued their attack, even after the victim was unconscious.

"I commend the quick and timely report by the witness which led to an immediate response by police which resulted in the three offenders being arrested" said Supt Porter.

All three offenders are expected to be charged with aggravated assault later today.
