Police received a report at about 5.30 last night of an abandoned truck located in bushland near McKinlay Road in Herbert.

The Isuzu truck and various electrical goods were reported stolen from a business on Bennison Rd, Winnellie; between 6.30pm on 11 February and 7.00am February 12.

The alleged offenders used a steel bar and a rock to gain entry to the shed through a side door. Once inside, the offenders loaded the tray back truck with electrical goods including ovens and stoves, before fleeing the area.

Members attended McKinlay road last night however were unable to locate any of the stolen goods. The owner of the truck was notified and will attend the scene today to recover the vehicle.

Police are calling for any one who may have witnessed the unlawful entry or has further information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
